Falling
Yesterday, I met up with a couple of friends so that we could be tourists for a day. The plan was to roam around Little India and Arab Street and see what goodies we could get.
But, who knew the extent of Mother Nature's wrath? Raining cats and dogs, our outing wasn't exactly without bumps.
While it was annoying in the beginning, I was sorta glad for the rain. Not just coz I am a rain-lover, but because we would never have discovered the joys of a $7.90 vegetarian buffet or splashing around in puddles, muddy as they can be. And surely nothing beats the first whoosh of rain water as one vehicle after another passes you by at the traffic light. Fantastic experience, I would say. If only I had a chic and durable raincoat yesterday, it would have been perfect.
To top it off, I fell down a staircase at a location I shall not name. But, of course, I fell down with grace. And laughing all the way down, to boot. Well, it was either that or cry. So, I chose to laugh and fall with style. It was painful and exhilarating at the same time. And while my rear end still aches at times, I always chuckle now when I think back on the incident. It was such a what-the-fuck moment.
And, my lovely day off ended with warm porridge, funny conversations and a last-minute late night movie, who certainly warms my heart at this stage in my life. *grins*
I love doing spur-of-the-moment things.
